Shed Moving

Moving a Shed

The price of moving a shed depends on three things: the route from where it stands to where it's going, the ground along the way, and whether the shed can travel intact. None of that shows up in a model number, so we look before we price.

We move sheds within a property and to a new address, and relocate playsets and swing sets. When the route allows, a shed rolls across the yard on skates in one piece. When it doesn't, a kit shed comes apart and is rebuilt on the new spot.

Shed Relocation

Shed Relocation Service

There are two ways to move a shed, and the route decides which one yours needs. If the shed is sound and the path is clear, firm and wide enough, it's lifted onto skates and rolled to the new spot in one piece. If the path won't allow it, a kit shed is taken apart, moved in pieces, and rebuilt on the new base.

  • Rolled intact on skates across the yard, when the path is wide enough and the ground is firm
  • Taken apart and rebuilt when the route won't take it whole: roof, doors and panels down in order, hardware bagged and labeled
  • To a new address in our truck, whole if it fits and in pieces if it doesn't
  • Moved onto a new base that is built and level before we arrive: a concrete slab, a wood platform or a compacted gravel pad

How a Shed Move Goes

1

Send photos and a video

Photos of the shed and the new spot, and a short video of the route between them.

2

We look before we price

The route, the ground and the shed decide the method. If the photos don't answer it, we come and look.

3

One flat price

One price for the move, agreed before we start.

4

Moved and set down

Rolled or rebuilt on the new base, squared, and the doors checked.

The new base has to be built and level before we arrive. No dirt or lawn leveling services offered.

Playsets & Swing Sets

Playset and Swing Set Moving

Playsets and swing sets move the same two ways. If the path is clear, the set moves to its new spot in one piece. If it isn't, it comes apart, moves in sections, and goes back together level, with the swings and slides rehung.

Across the yard

Moved to a new spot on the same property, whole when the path allows.

To a new home

Taken apart, moved in our truck and rebuilt at your new address.

Set level and anchored

Set level on the new spot, anchors reset, swings and slides rehung.

Buying a new set instead? See our playset and swing set assembly page.

Cost

Shed Moving Cost

Moving a shed is one flat price, set after we've seen the shed, the route and the ground. A small shed rolled a short way across flat, firm ground is a small job. A large one that has to come apart, get past the house and be rebuilt across town is a big one.

The route

Distance, width, gates, corners, steps and slopes between the old spot and the new one.

The ground

Firm, level ground lets a shed roll. Soft lawn or a slope can mean taking it apart.

The shed

Its size and build, and whether it can travel intact or has to be rebuilt.

FAQ

Shed Moving Questions Answered

Often, yes. If the shed is sound and the route is clear, firm and wide enough, we lift it onto skates and roll it to the new spot whole. If the route won't allow it, a kit shed comes apart and is rebuilt on the new base. We decide which after we've seen the shed and the route.
Because the price depends on the route, the ground and whether the shed can travel intact, and none of that is in a model number. Photos of the shed and a short video of the path usually answer it. If they don't, we come and look.
A base that is built and level before we arrive: a cured concrete slab, a wood platform or a compacted gravel pad, at least the size of the shed. No dirt or lawn leveling services offered. A shed set down on uneven ground ends up with doors that won't close.
Yes. It goes in our truck, whole if it fits and in pieces if it doesn't, and is set down or rebuilt on the base at the new place.
Often, yes. A wood shed built on a floor frame can't be taken apart like a kit shed, so it has to roll intact. That makes the route and the ground the whole question, and we look at both before we price.
Yes, across the yard or to a new home. Whole when the route allows, taken apart and rebuilt when it doesn't, and set level with the anchors reset. Buying a new one instead? See our playset assembly page.
Yes, resin and metal kit sheds, on the same kind of ready, level base. See our shed assembly page.
