Apartment moves are different
A house move is straightforward — open the front door, load the truck. An apartment move means narrow hallways, building elevators that have to be reserved, freight-only carts, loading docks behind the building, parking that requires a permit, and stair carries when the elevator dies mid-move. We do this every week, so the small stuff doesn't trip us up.
Buildings we move in regularly
Most major Seattle high-rises: Insignia, Cirrus, Stratus, Spire, Helios, Avalon, Equity, Skyline, Modera, AMLI. Capitol Hill, Belltown, South Lake Union, Queen Anne, Lower Queen Anne. Bellevue (Avalon Towers, Ovation, Vela), Kirkland Urban, Redmond Town Center. Tacoma's downtown loft buildings. Most buildings require a certificate of insurance — we send it directly to the property manager.
Hoisting when furniture won't fit
If your sofa, mattress, or armoire won't fit through the door or elevator, we hoist it through the window or balcony. See our furniture hoisting service for details — common at Ballard 4th-floor walkups, Capitol Hill brownstones, Queen Anne older buildings, and Tacoma stadium-district apartments.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to move a studio apartment?
It depends on distance, packing needs, and elevator/stair access. We quote every job before we dispatch. Call (425) 648-7887 for a same-day estimate.
How long does it take to move a 1-bedroom apartment?
A 2-mover crew moves a typical 1-bedroom apartment in 2.5–3.5 hours — load, drive, unload. If both buildings have elevators and you're packed up, closer to 2.5 hours.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?
Yes. Most Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma high-rises require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) from movers. Send us the building's COI requirements (or just the property manager's email) and we'll issue it within 24 hours.
Can you reserve the freight elevator?
We coordinate with the building's leasing office, but the resident generally has to make the actual elevator reservation. We'll tell you exactly what to ask for.
What if my apartment is on the 4th floor and there's no elevator?
We do it. Add about 1 hour to the time estimate per floor above the 3rd. If a piece won't fit up the stairs, we hoist it through a window or balcony — see our furniture hoisting service.
Do you move into high-rise buildings in Seattle?
Yes. Insignia, Cirrus, Stratus, Spire, Helios, Avalon, Skyline, Modera, AMLI, and most other Seattle high-rises. We carry COIs, follow loading-dock procedures, and book elevator windows.
Can you move me in the same day I see the apartment?
Often yes if you call before 11 AM. See our [last-minute moving page](/services/last-minute-moving/).
What's the cheapest way to move an apartment?
The cheapest professional option is hiring a small 2-mover crew for a quick window. Anything cheaper means renting a truck and doing it yourself.
Do you do studio apartment moves on weekends?
Yes. Same rate Saturday and Sunday. Weekend availability is tighter, so book at least 4–5 days out during summer.
Will you pack the kitchen for me?
Yes. Packing services are available — most 1-bedroom kitchens pack in about 2 hours.
How do I get an estimate?
Call (425) 648-7887 or use the free quote form. For a studio or 1BR we can quote on the phone in 5 minutes.
